Practitioners of quality rely on data to determine root causes and devise effective solutions and process improvements. There are many resources available on the subject, but few are free, and rarely do we find a free resource that is as clear, usable, and entertaining as “Process Improvement Using Data” by Kevin Dunn. Mr. Dunn was an instructor in Chemical Engineering at McMaster University in Ontario before moving to the Netherlands where he is now a Data Scientist for DSM. I read about the book in a review in the Spring 2019 issue of The Quality Management Forum (by Dan Zalewski of the University of Dayton). It’s a great resource for learners and Mr. Dunn includes suggestions for teachers in a link on the site.
