2020 Good for Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences Deals?

February 11, 2020
| Medical Products

There’s a lot of investment capital floating around out there, and the Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences (PLS) sector could benefit this year. According to a report by international accounting firm PwC, there’s considerable money and investment interest in the space, including over $1.7T in private equity. And this week’s BIO CEO & Investor Conference in New York City reports an increase in investor activity in 2020 and has an impressive guest list. The emergence of a global health crisis in the form of the 2019 novel coronavirus will only accelerate the activity, and the Forbes report on CRISPR company Mammoth Biosciences’ $45M Series B round at the end of January cite the company’s work with partners to develop a rapid diagnostic for the virus. We should ready ourselves for an interesting year.
