Mining U.S. Census Data for your Business

As business leaders, scientists, and entrepreneurs, we are often looking for data to help us make a business case, understand social situations, and scope the feasibility of a new idea. The U.S. government collects a wide range of data through the Census Bureau that can be used for these purposes, but how do we know where to start? One answer is the Census Academy, a great place for learning data skills as well as finding how to access government data. The site offers links to databases, free online courses, regular webinars, and short video clips (called Data Gems) on specific topics. You may also request help from a Census data expert for specialized training at your location. There’s a lot of value on this site – be sure to take a look.
